The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “Fasting and the Quran will intercede for the slave on the Day of Judgment. Fasting will say, ‘O My Lord! I prevented him from food and desires, so accept my intercession for him.’ And the Qur’an will say, ‘I prevented him from sleep during the night, so accept my intercession for him.’ ….thus they will intercede.”

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “This Qur’an is the Banquet of Allah. Learn as much as you can from His banquet. This Qur’an is the Rope of Allah, and it is the clear Light and [the effective and beneficial] Healing. It is a protection for the one who clings to it and a rescue for the one who follows it. It is not crooked and so puts things straight. It does not deviate so as to be blamed. Its wonders do not cease. It does not wear out with much repetition. So recite it for Allah will reward you for the recitation of every letter.”

The most sacred text to the Muslims in the world is the Quran which is the revealed word of Allah (SWT) Himself that He in all his mercy and grace sent down through the angel Jibreel [Gabriel (AS)] to the last messenger, the prophet Muhammad (SAW) who was an Arab. The Quran was revealed in the Arabic language and it is meant to be read and recited in the Arabic language. Allah (SWT) says in the Quran (12:2), “We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an so you people may understand / use reason”. The Quran is a unique book for it requires a set of rules and regulations to be followed when reciting it. This elocution of the Quran is called the Tajweed which can be termed as the proper grammar and pronounciation sounds of the words that are to be followed during recitation.
Tajweed is compulsory for in the Arabic language a meaning of a word can change regarding how it is pronounced. A person who is interested can join a school that provides Quran tutoring online and learn Quran with tajweed. These schools are also useful if a person wishes to learn Quran at home and cannot attend a regular institute due to a number of reasons. Quran tutoring online is similar to attending a regular mosque or center and is done under the guiding supervision of a qualified and learned scholar who is well capable of answering any questions and can remedy any misunderstanding about the religion of Quran. Those people who wish to learn Quran at home or learn Quran with tajweed can join such digital schools and learn at their own pace.
