Allah (S.W.T) created human beings with free will. We may choose our ways but He hasn’t left us without any guidance. All through the history of mankind, the Lord of the worlds has sent Messengers and Holy Scriptures to help His creations distinguish between the right and the wrong. The last of Prophets is Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) on whom Allah (S.W.T) revealed the Book to light the ways for all humankind till the end of the time.
“A Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may receive admonition.” [Qur’an, 38:29]
The above verse tells us that our Holy Book helps us identify the correct path as well as receive the blessings from our Creator.
Let’s have a look at a few of the benefits of reciting Holy Quran every day.
- Cleanses Hearts: Quran is Allah’s word. He purifies our heart and soul through His words and lights them with His guidance.
“O mankind! There hath come to you an admonition from your Lord and a healing (for the diseases) in your hearts and, for those who believe, a Guidance and Mercy.” [Qur’an, 10:57]
- Distinguishes Right From Wrong: The Book helps us choose the right path and the correct ways:
“This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt, guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqoon [the pious]” [Qur’an, 2:2]
It teaches the lifestyle as is liked by our Rabb. The teachings of Holy Quran cover all aspects of our lives and present to us the most appropriate choices in every situation.
“And, We have certainly presented for the people in this Qur’an from every [kind of] example – that they might remember.” [Qur’an, 39: 27]
- Numerous Rewards: It does not only guide us to choose the right path but, also, helps us gain huge rewards by reciting Holy Quran.
“Verily the one who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Bukhari]
“Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” [Tirmidhi]
Also, Allah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H) encouraged the recitation of more ayahs in Salah because:
“Whoever recites ten Ayahs (verses) in qiyaam will not be recorded as one of the forgetful. Whoever recites a hundred Ayahs (verses) in qiyaam will be recorded as one of the devout, and whoever prays a thousand Ayahs (verses) in qiyaam will be recorded as one of the muqantareen (those who pile up good deeds).” [Abu Dawood]
Hence, the Book of Allah is full of blessings, rewards, and enlightenment. May Allah help us take full advantage of His amazing gift.
